Carlsbad, California-based Coded Communications Inc is to acquire a majority stake in PCS Wireless Inc, Vancouver, British Columbia designer and manufacturer of products used in Personal Communications Systems and Personal Communications Networks. The attraction is unique devices and products currently being evaluated in field trials and installations with Hutchison Paging Ltd in Hong Kong, Singapore Telecom Ltd, Malaysia Telecom Bhd, Australia Telecom and PacTel Telesis Inc. Current applications include wireless communications systems for shopping malls, airports, subways and hospitals. Details were not disclosed but the deal, for cash and shares, involves initial investment leading to a majority holding.
