According to Docucorp, the system will enable Chubb to achieve greater brand consistency for all customer communication – such as renewals, cancellations and payments, as well as any broking correspondence. Additionally, it will allow better control in creating insurance policies, as part of the insurer’s program to respond to the FSA’s initiative on ‘contract certainty.’

Docucorp’s software will replace Chubb’s reliance on Microsoft Word, allowing the insurer to establish a series of rules governing its policies and general correspondence.

The rules relate to reusable templates, which can prescribe anything from standardized content, through to branding, logo positioning, font and color, thus ensuring both greater consistency and more centralized control across the organization.

By minimizing manual intervention, the software will also improve the speed with which correspondence can be issued and thereby reduce the period of uncertainty during which cover is in place but policy terms have not been specified.

Chubb is planning for a UK implmentation towards the end of the year, with a view to making it available to all its regional operations across Europe. In the meantime, the insurer plans to use the same Docucorp software to automate documentation relating to claims handling in Europe.
