Roslyn Heights, New York-based Cheyenne Software Inc is now shipping ARCserve version 6 for NetWare, its storage management system. It is claimed to provide easier support for heterogeneous environments of NetWare, Windows NT, Windows95, Unix, OS/2, and Macintosh systems. Other enhancements include file-based interleaving; RAID-5 fault tolerance, push agents, and multiple SCSI board support. Cheyenne also introduced a new two-tier pricing structure that is set according to network size. The NetWare/Workgroup Edition will cost $800 for fewer than 25 users and $1,900 for more. The RAID-5 Fault Tolerance Option is to be charged for separately at $2,000, and the File Interleaving Push Agents will cost $500. Versions of the product in French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish will be available soon according to Cheyenne.
