Canadian IT services company CGI Group has won new and extended contracts worth a total of CAD 250m ($204.19m) from Canada’s federal and provincial governments.
According to the company, the new contracts and contract extensions were awarded by federal agencies and the provincial governments of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick.

Earlier in the last week of March 2009, CGI Group announced a 10 year, $182 million, infrastructure, application maintenance and development outsourcing services agreement. This agreement will extend the existing infrastructure services outsourcing agreement by seven years, and will see 78 Foresters IT employees transition to CGI.
Accordingly, CGI will deliver IT application maintenance and development services from its centers in Toronto, Halifax and Bangalore while IT infrastructure services including data center mainframe, voice communications, IT help desk and distributed computing services will be delivered from its centers in Ontario.
