Cermetek Microelectronics Inc, Sunnyvale, California is set to introduce the second of its three error-correcting component modules for high speed communications. The company claims that its new CH1891 provides system builders with quick off-the-shelf design-in solutions for any RS-232C compatible data communications device that communicates asynchronously over the Public Switched Telephone Network or over leased lines. It also supports Levels 1 to 4 of the MNS Microcom Networking Protocol, which Cermetek says will allow the reduction of development time for implementation of the Microcom protocol by up to four months. The CH1891, which costs $59 when you buy 500 or more, features full MNP Level 1-4 compatibility and auto-reliable, reliable, normal and direct MNP operating modes.
