Etec Systems Inc, the Hayward, California-based provider of patterning systems for the semiconductor industry, has reported first quarter net profits up 32.1% at $9.2m on revenue which was 52.3% higher at $68.4m. Net earnings per share increased by 24.2% to $0.41.
