The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has selected Accenture as a prime contractor for its 10-year, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity CDC Information Management Services (CIMS) contract.
The CIMS contract will be used to acquire an array of IT services and offerings that support CDC’s global public health initiatives including health IT, disease management, predictive analytics, health information exchanges, network systems design, information security services, and infrastructure managed services.
The company said that it will compete for work in two areas – information management services and IT infrastructure services with ceiling values of $3bn and $1bn, respectively, over the 10-year period.
Accenture North America health and public service managing director Dan London said with this award, they intend to help CDC achieve its mission more effectively by leveraging the same high-quality information management, application, and infrastructure capabilities the company provide to some of the world’s largest health organisations.
