Woburn, Massachusetts company Cayman Systems Inc has announced the GatorRoute iR, an integrated and expandable four-port multiprotocol router for connecting workgroups to an Ethernet backbone. The product provides simultaneous routing of Novell IPX, TCP/IP, AppleTalk and DECnet, says the company. Also announced is the LocalTalk Expansion board for GatorRoute iR. According to Cayman, when added to the router this board will enable Macintoshes on a LocalTalk segment to access Ethernet network systems and services, such as electronic mail, file sharing, printing and faxing. The GatorRoute iR lists for $3,300 ($3,500 with the board); the board alone is $500.
