Canon Inc plans to increase production in Mexico ahead of the North American Free Trade Agreement coming into force, Reuter reports from Tokyo: Canon has already started expanding a factory in Tijuana to produce parts for electronic typewriters, and also plans to build a new factory somewhere in Mexico by 1994 to make copiers and printers; other Japanese firms may follow.
