It appears that not only is British Sky Broadcasting Plc pulling out of the three-way alliance on digital pay television with Bertelsmann AG and Canal Plus SA, but Canal Plus is having second thoughts and believes the German intends to go it alone. The UK and French parties are said to be unhappy at sidebar plans of the German to merge one of its units with Compagnie Luzembourgeoise de Telediffusion SA to create another broadcasting venture that would make Bertelsmann a competitor of Canal Plu s in France.
