Caligari Corp of Mountain View, California has announced version 2.0 of TrueSpace for Windows, its three-dimensional graphics and animation software which makes three- dimensional graphics accessible to two-dimensional illustrators and multimedia producers. It features real-time solid rendering of three-dimensional objects, Boolean operations, field rendering for improved broadcast video quality, auto-dimensioning and numerical entries for computer-aided design and technical illustration. It provides field rendering, a technique which enables users to double the standard frame rate from 30 frames to 60 frames per second and a motion blur tool which creates or replicates the human perception of an object or a whole scene in motion, as well as procedural textures, non-tiling natural textures of wood, granite and marble. TrueSpace now supports PostScript, Adobe Illustrator, TIFF and .gif import capabilities, as well as FLIC and JPEG export filters. Caligari TrueSpace 2.0 will ship during the first quarter of 1995 with for $800. The upgrade is $150 to current registered trueSpace users.
