According to BMC, the Business Service Management (BSM) product will help to streamline its IT processes and improve the control of its offices and ATMs. The move comes after Caixa Catalunya migrated from a Unisys to an IBM mainframe environment.

Luis Marcos, IT director for Caixa Catalunya, said the platform enables us to quickly pinpoint problems and incidents right across the IT infrastructure, define resolution priorities, and proactively monitor systems.

An initial implementation of BMC’s Patrol infrastructure and application management programs and its Mainview mainframe management platform was followed by the deployment of database management, batch scheduling management and monitoring management tools.

BMC added that Caixa Catalunya is now considering the adoption of BSM for its online banking service.
