Cable Co-op in Palo Alto, California, has launched the San Francisco peninsula’s first high speed cable modem system offering internet connections at speeds up to 35 times faster than the typical 28.8Kbps telephone modem. The service is aimed at power users who pay between $200 and $1,000 a month depending on speed. The company is using Com21 Inc’s ComUNITY Access system.
