CA Buys Security-7 For Anti-Virus Apps

As expected, Computer Associates International Inc has snapped up Israeli anti-virus software company Secirty-7 Ltd. Its SafeGate software supposedly protects against malicious ActiveX and Java scripts and email. Reports in the Israeli press last week suggested CA would be paying some $25m for Security-7 and another anti-virus outfit, Carmel Software Engineering. There was no word on Carmel.
