Storage Technology Corp’s Minneapolis, Minnesota-based Network Systems Corp’s Bytex unit has announced its Enterprise LAN switch, which incorporates Xylan Corp’s virtual local network dynamic switching technology with the company’s Enterprise Routing Switch and the Bytex Series 7700 switching hub. It is modular and available in four- or eight-module versions. It supports any combination of Ethernet, Token Ring, FDDI and Asynchronous Transfer Mode modules, with a maximum configuration of 64 Ethernet and 48 Token Ring connections. It’s out now, at a per port price for Ethernet of around ú640.
