Burma has been another of those countries that have resolutely turned their backs on the modern world, but that is now breaking down, and L M Ericsson Telefon AB reports that its Ericsson Communications (Thailand) Co has been awarded a $4m contract for base stations, power generators and 1,000 handsets for the country’s first cellular telephone network.
