Monopolies naturally gravitate to each other and so on Friday, Deutsche Budespost Telekom announced a strategic multimedia partnership with Microsoft Corp in the field of multimedia: The goal of the co-operation is to build a Windows-based platform which can offer services and uses on existing infrastructure, especially the ISDN network and on future Telekom networks, said the phone company, adding that both private and business users would be able to benefit from the results – Potential uses are for teleworking, video and document conferencing and on-line information services; in addition it will be possible to combine office services like electronic mail, diaries and multimedia databases, it said.
