As well as the perceived snag in the alliance with France Telecom (see page five), other rumours are rife about goings-on at Groupe Bull SA: insiders claim that the company has split Zenith Data Systems’ European operation off from its American base and now have Zenith Europe reporting directly to Bull, with the thinking being that it wants to fatten up the US operation, which is said to be likely to make losses in the region of $200m this year, for a fire sale and keep Zenith Europe as a low-end player.
