BT has opened a new technology facility in Singapore, which brings together video conferencing equipment and networked IT applications under one roof.

Acting British High Commissioner to Singapore Amanda Brooks inaugurated the telecom provider’s new facility.

The new facility would enable business customers to interact directly with technologies and services including: wide area network optimisation; next-gen contact centres; unified communications; IP telephony and other ICT innovations, said the company.

The facility is part of the company’s ongoing investment programme in the region, aimed at delivering communication services that help multinational companies succeed in their business opportunities across Asia, and help local corporations operate in other parts of the world.

The company has also recently established a Bid Response Centre (BRC) in Singapore to enhance its capabilities to pursue large regional managed services deals.

BT South East Asia CEO Stephen Yeo said Singapore is a hub to a large number of global companies and many of their customers are expanding across Asia Pacific and the company is investing to extend their communications infrastructure and services to support their growth.
