British Telecommunications Plc has announced a complex set of price changes to a range of its services, including Telecom Gold and Global Network Service. The charges come as part of BT’s 1992 price revision, and BT is claiming that increases are in line with or below rises in the retail price index, in most cases falling between 6% and 10%. For some of its Global Network Services, British Telecom has introduced new simplified pricing structures more accurately to reflect its costs, which means that, for example, the minimum chargeable volume for the GNS X28 Dial service and the X25 Dedicated Connection service has been increased from 10 segments to 20 segments. This rationale has also led to some price reductions, however, including a waiving of both the UKP150 a month qualification charge for lower GNS international call rates, and additional charges for Logical Channels, on the X25 Dedicated Connection service, it says.
