Bravice International, a pioneering venture start-up working on small, low-cost machine translation systems for minis and micros, has increased its capital with the help European funds run by Morgan Grenfell and BPCC of France: the new round of financing, totalling $1.71m, brings the total raised to $5.72m, giving Bravice the financial muscle to compete with Fujitsu and NEC after building a high-speed mainframe machine translation system, as well as improving its ability to resume work on translation systems between Japanese and other European languages, which had been suspended in in favour of the Japanese-English and Japanese-Korean systems.
