Borland International Inc is now shipping Paradox 5.0 Developer Tools for Windows. The troubled Scotts Valley, California company claims a number of new features to enable users to create database and client-server applications rapidly within its relational database application. CheckPoint provides security in a multi-developer environment to ensure version control in a graphical format, while Expert Builder, as the name suggests, enables developers to create customised on-line expertise to guide users through particular tasks. Borland’s resource editor, Resource Workshop 2.0 aids customisation of the user interface and provides for simple editing of icons and bit maps. An ObjectPAL Browser groups an object’s complete source code in a single text file for easier editing. Borland has also announced Paradox 5.0 for Windows Runtime, which provides an unlimited distribution licence for applications created with ObjectPAL, Paradox’s proprietary object-oriented programming language. Out now, Paradox 5.0 Developer Tools is $300 and Paradox 5.0 Runtime costs $500.
