BellSouth Corp is in a consortium to bid for Personal Communications Services licences in its region with a group including 35 small phone companies and a unit of Duke Power Co: we want a completely seamless southeastern wireless service, and the flexibility to look at alliances that go beyond that, it said; it is planning to bid for wireless licences in North and South Carolina in the consortium, on its own in eastern Tennessee.
