BellSouth Telecommunications Inc and DSC Communications Corp have signed a five-year agreement for the widespread deployment of technology that will more cost-effectively provide standard telephone service and establish the framework to upgrade to future broadband services: the multi-million-dollar contract will use DSC’s Next Generation Digital Loop Carrier equipment, Litespan-2000 and Starspan.
