According to the Irish financial services organization, the convenience and uniqueness of its Text Top Up is accentuated by the fact that, unlike similar offers where customers need to go online to register, Bank of Ireland customers can simply register at any of the bank’s 500 ATMs around the country.

The registration process takes less that two minutes and, once the customer has registered at an ATM, all future top-up transactions can be done from their mobile phone, anytime, anywhere.

The service not only allows customers to acquire and pay for top ups for their own phones but also gives them the option to register and top up other Vodafone and O2 prepaid phones, giving parents, in particular, the reassurance that their children will always be able to make contact.

Credit will be usually applied to the number within ten minutes, the bank said. Bank of Ireland has estimated that as many as 750,000 of its customer base have prepaid mobile phones.

Eddie Ryan, head of card marketing at Bank of Ireland said, At Bank of Ireland, we are constantly striving to enhance our service offering to customers. In today’s busy environment, this often means introducing initiatives that will save our customers time and hassle. Text Top Up is a great example of our commitment in this regard.

Bank of Ireland has awarded the contract for the provision of the software and service for this customer facility to Macalla Software, an award-winning innovator in the commercial application of mobile technology.
