Dutch enterprise resource planning software developer Baan Company NV has appointed Avro Business Solutions Ltd as its UK business partner for the AS/400 market. Avro will market AS/400 systems pre-configured with BaaNERP and Dynamic Enterprise Models for the customer’s specific vertical market segment. It will also offer network integration and integration services, together with an outsourcing option for its data center in Nottingham.
The UK company sees its appointment by Baan as opening the way to further business in the electronics, automotive, construction, wholesale and distribution sectors. Avro is part of the DCS Group, which has operations in software, outsourcing and systems integration. Last month the group reported pre-tax profit up 53% at 7.55m pounds ($12.19m) on revenue of 110m pounds ($177.5m) for 1998. Earnings per share were 44% at 22.5 pence ($0.36).
