Great Neck, New York-based Avnet Inc reports that it has bought the components distribution businesses of Electronic 2000 AG, located in Germany, Austria and Switzerland: the seven businesses involved had a total volume in 1992 of about $72m and handle Intel Corp, Texas Instruments Inc, National Semiconductor Corp, Advanced Micro Devices Inc, Altera Corp, Xicor Inc and Lattice Semiconductor Corp parts; Avnet is still on the look-out for more distributors to buy in Europe, North America and the Pacific Rim.
