Avant! Corp has launched what it claims is the first ever common database for very deep-submicron IC design and analysis tools. Milkyway, which includes a graphical user interface, is intended to ease the process of sharing common data between synthesis, timimg optimization, place-and-route, simulation and analysis tools, both from Avant! itself and from third parties through standard interfaces.
