CAD specialist Autodesk has announced the appointment of Mark Paraskeva as its new vice president of Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMIA).
The 2D and 3D design software company says that the region now accounts for around 40% Autodesk’s total global revenues, totalling over $1bn. Autodesk said that the appointment shows the growing importance the region has on its business.
Paraskeva previously held the position vice president of Northern Europe, integrating the United Kingdom and Ireland, Benelux and Nordics into a high-performing industry-focused region, Autodesk said. He originally joined the company in 2004.
“The whole world faces unique times with unique market conditions,” said Paraskeva. “In EMIA, Autodesk will focus on providing the design innovation technologies, services and support that will enable our customers and partners to address these immediate challenges and prepare for the future.
“Autodesk is committed to getting closer to the communities it serves. We will continue to focus on providing the tools that enable ongoing innovation, the development of new products and services and to take advantage of the opportunities presented by developed and emerging markets.”
Autodesk recently announced that it would be cutting 750 jobs as part of a plan to reduce operating expenses. The company also recently said that it had agreed to sell its Location Services business to private equity firm Hale Capital Partners for an undisclosed sum.
