The Australian National University in Canberra has signed a research and development agreement with Fujitsu Ltd for two three-year joint projects, one to develop a small image processing system using a mechanism modelled on that of the compound eyes of insects to for seeing moving objects, the other to develop software for parallel processors; the uni (that’s Australian for university) has had Fujitsu mainframes since the early 1980s.
