Bellevue, Washington-based Attachmate Corp has announced KEA! 700/98 version 4.3, the latest version of its personal computer-to-Hewlett-Packard Co host access system. KEA! gives corporations managed access to corporate information on HP 3000 and HP 9000 systems from all Windows. It features custom menus, dialog boxes, and icon-launching of Hewlett applications from any Windows system. The package includes support for VT420 and HP 700/98 terminals, and is claimed to have a wider variety of application programming interfaces, higher functional VT emulation, and the most communications protocols of any system on the market. It includes 16-bit Hewlett-Packard host access for Windows users as well as 32-bit access for Windows95 and NT. In conjunction with Attachmate’s QuickApp and QuickDB, says the company, KEA! 700/98 sites can quickly build powerful client-server applications that access corporate Hewlett-Packard host data. Users can run multiple sessions over local and wide area networks, each with a connection to the same or different hosts: the number of sessions is limited only by system resources. KEA! provides access to Hewlett-Packard, Digital Equipment Corp, and Unix host systems over a variety of protocols. Support includes serial connections – including TAPI support – TCP/IP, NS/VT, LAT, CTERM, Novell Inc’s NetWare for LAT, and its NASI.DLL (16-bit only) for access to NetWare Connect. The package will be available in September for a list price of $400.
