Latest on AT&T Co’s plan to move into laptop computers via a joint venture with Marubeni Co is that the new firm will be owned 60% by AT&T, 40% by Marubeni, and will start out by marketing an 80386 boxwith strong communications features in the US. The machine will be bought OEM from Matsushita Electronics, Newsbytes reports, which will make it at the Franklin Park, Illinois plant that already does PS/2s for IBM, at 4,000 to 5,000 a month.
