Under terms of the deal, Paris, France-based Atos Origin will continue to have preferred IT services supplier status with Philips for the next three years. An Atos Origin spokesperson said Atos would be one of the first vendors in line for any future Philips IT services projects, on top of the existing ERP, data warehousing, and desktop support work it already provides.
Philips is also involved in a $300m outsourcing deal with IBM Global Services to manage its IT infrastructure in North America, and last year outsourced its desktop management functions in a $700m contract to Dell, which is using Atos Origin as a subcontractor.
