Three dimensional graphics and multimedia specialist, ATI Technologies Inc has reported strong results for the nine months to May 31, following the release of several new products in the last quarter. ATI reported nine month net profits up 75.0% at $36.0m, while revenue for the three months grew 28.6% to $450.6m. The Toronto, Canada company launched its fourth generation 3D Rage Pro component and the new television-out chip, ImpacTV-2 that enables flicker-free display of television screens, in the third quarter. ATI believes it leads the way in Digital Video Disk technology and says it is preparing itself for the pre-Christmas sales period. President and chief operating officer K Y Ho is delighted with the company’s performance and says it achieved gross margins which surpassed historical levels, following continued progress with large Original Equipment Manufacturers.
