With its dominant position in the personal computer small database market under intense pressure, Ashton-Tate Corp is looking to diverify into the Unix systems market and has signed with the workstation market leader Sun Microsystems Inc as a first step. The two signed a joint development and marketing agreement to make Ashton-Tate’s dBase IV available for Sun computer systems.
