Every electrical product purchased online at asda.com will be delivered directly to the customer’s home. Larger items like dishwashers, washing machines and fridges will be hand delivered by a two-man team.
Customers can already purchase small domestic appliances like toasters and irons for as little as GBP4.40 in Asda stores nationwide. Larger Asda supercenters and Asda Living stores also carry a wide range of TVs, DVD players and recorders, mobile phones and MP3 players.
Gordon Hewlett, Asda’s head of online general merchandise, said in a statement: Our website now caters for every need at the touch of a button. You can buy your groceries, furnish your home from top to bottom, order flowers, book a weekend away – all from the comfort of your George leather armchair.
