Artisoft Inc, Tucson, Arizona-based developer of the LANtastic network operating system, has designed its own Ethernet interface chip called Alice, for Artisoft’s LAN Interface Chip for Ethernet. It will use it in its own adaptors and offer it to personal computer and peripheral manufacturers. Compatible with the Artisoft AE-2 and Novell Inc NE1000 and NE2000 Ethernet implementations, Alice supports the AT and Micro Channel buses. It is sampling now, but the company did not give any price for it.
