Applied Microsystems Corp of Redmond, Washingtom, has a new integrated tool chain for developing code on VAX/VMS hosts for Motorola 68000 microprocessors: Validate/XEL has an ANSI-conformant optimising compiler and is capable of supporting Motorola’s new 20MHz MC68302 microprocessor, and it may be integrated with Applied’s ES1800 emulator; as well as the features of the previous version of XEL, the new version offers complete ANSI compliance for its C source compiler, and this is said to offer efficient translation from C source code to machine language; a fully integrated development system of Validate/XEL and the ES1800 emulator for VAX/VMS hosts is available at $35,000; the enhanced Validate/XEL is available for $20,000, and a stand-alone ES1800 with 20MHz MC68302 emulation costs $20,000.
