The device sports a larger, 2.5-inch color display for viewing video content, with 320×240 pixels and 260,000 colors. It’s available in 30GB and 60GB versions, the former of which is some 30% thinner than the previous 20GB iPod and tips the scales at only 4.8 ounces. The 60GB model is 12% slimmer than its predecessor.

Price tags on the new models $299 and $399, and both versions are available in white or black. Battery life ranges from 14 to 20 hours, depending on what the iPod is used for.

Apple has struck a deal with Disney to provide television shows and music videos. Both will be available for $1.99 per download from the iTunes store. Free video podcasts and movie trailers will also be available.
