America Online Inc has signed another marketing deal, this time with three of the leading on-line share brokerages. DLJDirect Inc, E*Trade Inc and Waterhouse Securities Inc will pay AOL $12.5m annually each for the next two year to be the premier brokerages on AOL’s brokerage and mutual fund centers in the AOL personal finance channel. They will feature prominently on the channel’s main screen, as well as in areas such as quotes, portfolios, investment research and market news. These are not necessarily exclusive deals and AOL says it is not ruling anything out in the future in terms of deals with other brokerages. With each brokerage handing over $12.5m each annually, that’s $75m in revenues for AOL over two years. Customers of the three brokerages will also be able to access their accounts directly through AOL. AOL’s new brokerage center launches today.
