Gardena, California-based Antex Electronics Corp has released a Windows-based digital audio editor designed specifically to edit compressed audio files created by Antex digital audio adapters and other compatible adapters. Editing compressed audio files enables the user to avoid conversion delays. The Antex NuWave editor supports multiple WAV compression formats, including Dolby AC-2, MPEG Layer I and II and MS-ADPCM, and standard 8-bit and 16-bit Pulse Code Modulation. Antex NuWave is optimised for editing compressed files created by Antex digital audio adapters but will run with any Windows-supported sound board. Antex NuWave features non-destructive editing, so the original audio file is never altered. It creates an edit decision list which instructs the editor how to compose and playback edited versions of the file. This speeds the editing process and enables users to keep their audio library intact. It also enables users to add to the edit decision list, or create a new edit decision list, by importing existing audio files or recording new files in real-time from the editor. It sells for $600.
