The Slough, UK-based company made a net profit of GBP6.9 million ($13.4 million) on sales that rose 1% to GBP96.5 million ($188.0 million) for the six months to the end of October. It made a loss of GBP15.3 million ($29.8 million) in the same period a year ago.

The company has sold off a number of units that it deemed to be non-core. It offloaded its space consultancy business to Vega Group Plc for GBP7.5 million ($14.6 million) in September, and last month it sold its telecom billing systems business Calculus to Azure Solutions Ltd for GBP0.75 million ($1.5 million). On Monday it completed the sale of its transport consultancy business to Trapeze Inc for GBP0.9 million ($1.8 million).

CEO Steve Rowley restated the company’s aim to be in the top two in each of the areas it serves within its core vertical markets: public sector, travel, and telecoms. Further disposals are likely for underperforming areas.
