Sony Corp exhibited its new DMS line of digital tape storage systems released last week, and Nippon Storage Technology its 4000 series line-up of cartridge disk and tape subsystems. Storage Technology has sold 70 units in Japan since 1988; the advantage of the StorageTek products lies in connectability to all vendors’ systems, in contrast to the proprietary storage systems of local vendors such as Fujitsu. Convex Computer Corp exhibited with partners Tokyo Electron Corp and Nippon Kokan KK.
