Ancor Communications Inc has won an OEM deal for its fiber channel switches from Canada’s Forefront Graphics Inc, a digital video products integration firm. Forefront will integrate and sell Minneapolis-based Ancor’s GigWorks MKII 8- and 16-port switches as part of its storage area network product aimed at the entertainment and pre-press industries. Along with the Ancor switches, Forefront’s SAN will include RAID storage devices from Dublin, Ireland-base Eurologic Systems Inc, the SANergy storage area network operating system from Chelmsford, Massachusetts- based Mercury Computer Systems and host-bus adapters from Emulex Corp. Forefront’s SAN is designed to offer film and video- broadcast production companies who need high-bandwidth data delivery between workstations.
