Motorola Inc reports that the US Telecommunications Industry Association has released standards for narrow-band analogue mobile phone service based on a proposal by Motorola’s Cellular Subscriber and Infrastructure Groups: in December 1989, Motorola introduced the narrow-band system designed to provide increased capacity and support enhanced services, and says it is a logical extension of the analogue mobile phone system, enabling current operators to accommodate the rapid growth of new subscribers.
