Amstrad Plc will launch its new Series 5 personal computers at the Business Computing ’91 Show being held at Earl’s Court later this month: the PC5286 has a 16MHz 80286 chip with 1Mb of memory and is available in two configurations – with a 3.5 1.44Mb floppy or with a 40Mb hard drive, while the PC5086 uses an 8MHz 8086 processor with 640Kb of RAM as standard and comes in three configurations – single or double 3.5 1.44Mb floppy drives or a 40Mb hard disk drive; all the machines come with a PS/2 type keyboard and mouse, MS-DOS 3.3 and the Counterpoint graphical user interface; entry price is UKP400.
