Amstrad to develop 80s games for the next generation

Amstrad has released plans to convert its old computer game classics onto Java platforms for the forthcoming 3G phones.

Amstrad bought its brand and software catalogue from Sinclair computers, a stalwart of 1980s computer gaming.

Such ‘old skool’ games houses are hoping to recapture some of their glory days by launching their games on a 3G platform. This year has already seen several deals, including agreements between DoCoMo and Sega; Nokia, Kuju Entertainment and Rage Software; and THQ and Intellivision.
