The American Film Institute in Los Angeles has entered a long-term relationship with Apple Computer Inc to promote introduction and integration of computer technology into the film and television industry. The two are forming the American Film Institute/Apple Computer Centre for Film and Videomakers and Apple is donating over $1m in Macintosh equipment to the Institute. The new centre will be inaugurated in the autumn, and will be dedicated to solving the creative and technical challenges in film and televisionproduction through the application of computer technology. It will be open to all members of the film making community. Workshops on producing, directing, screenwriting, animation, editing, cinematography, production design, scoring and music editing will be offered.
