In November 1992, Televerket, the Swedish state telephone company, sold its San Diego, California Telesoft Inc acquisition to Thomson-CSF SA’s Alsys Inc. At this week’s Unix Expo show, Alsys’s software engineering division is unveiling TelUse/DB 1.0, a tool designed to enable any SQL-based relational database application to run under OSF/Motif when used in conjunction with the company’s UIMS interface-builder. Initially for Sparc RISC systems running Sybase, the software is out in November and priced at from $1,900. Oracle, Ingres and Informix versions will follow.
