Alcatel NV’s Alcatel Modi Network Systems Pvt Ltd says it has won several telephone contracts in India worth a total of $256m: the contracts cover the installation of more than 1m Alcatel 1000 E10 telephone lines, a national network for data transmission and an experimental Synchronous Digital Hierarchy network for sending complex data.
